Weekday schedule of a Polish office worker

Time (local time) Activities
6:30-7:30 After waking up, have a light breakfast (kanapki or cereals) and check the news while drinking coffee.
7:30-8:30 Commute by public transport (bus or tram). In big cities, traffic jams occur during this time.
8:30-12:00 Morning work. This is the time when emails and meetings are concentrated. Sometimes a short coffee break is taken around 10:00.
12:00-13:00 Lunch break. Traditionally the most important meal of the day, this is a hot meal eaten in a restaurant or company cafeteria.
13:00-16:00 Afternoon work. Continuing on from the morning or tackling new tasks. Highly productive hours.
16:00-17:00 Regular time to leave work. There is little overtime, and many employees start going home at this time.
17:30-19:00 Dinner with family at home. They have the habit of eating relatively heavy meals such as soup or meat dishes.
19:00-21:00 Relaxation time. Watching TV, reading, taking walks, etc. In summer, the days are long, so people often go out.
21:30-23:00 Take a bath, prepare for the next day, and go to bed. Poles tend to go to bed and get up relatively early.

7:30-8:15 Go to school by public transport or on foot. Elementary school students are often picked up and dropped off by their parents.
8:15-13:30 Class time. 45-minute classes with a 10-15 minute break. Main subjects are concentrated in the morning.
13:30-14:30 Lunch break. Have a hot meal in the school cafeteria or eat a sandwich you brought with you.
14:30-16:00 Afternoon classes and extracurricular activities. Electives and club activities are often held.
16:00-17:30 Time to go home from school. Students may go to a cafe with friends or go straight home.
17:30-19:00 Time to have dinner with family. Some students eat while doing their homework.
19:00-21:00 Time to do homework and self-study. High school students sometimes go to cram school during this time.
21:00-22:30 Free time. Relax on social media, play games, read books, etc.
22:30-23:30 Time to get ready for bed before going to sleep. Elementary school students tend to go to bed earlier.
