Weekday schedule of a Dutch office worker

Time (local time) Activities
6:30-7:30 Wake up, take a shower, have a simple breakfast and check the news.
7:30-8:30 Commute by bicycle or public transport. In urban areas, cycling is common.
8:30-12:00 Morning work. This is the time to focus on meetings, task processing, and sharing information with colleagues.
12:00-13:00 Lunch break. It is common to have a light snack such as a sandwich brought with you at work.
13:00-17:00 Afternoon work. Deal with customers, progress on projects, team meetings, etc.
17:00-18:00 Leave work at the regular time. There is little overtime work, and there is a culture of prioritizing time for family and hobbies.
18:00-19:00 Eat dinner after returning home. Mostly home-cooked meals, and often dine with family.
19:00-21:00 Free time for hobbies, exercise, watching TV, etc. Many people go out.
21:00-22:30 Relax by taking a bath and preparing for the next day. Tendency to go to bed early.
