Weekday schedule of an office worker in Iceland

7:00-8:00 After waking up, have breakfast with skyr (yogurt) and bread, and check the weather forecast.
8:00-9:00 Commute by car or bicycle. This is the time when traffic is heavy in central Reykjavik.
9:00-12:00 Morning work. Most of the work is related to fishing and tourism, and the atmosphere is relatively relaxed.
12:00-13:00 Lunch break. Eat fish dishes or sandwiches at the office cafeteria or a nearby cafe.
13:00-17:00 Afternoon work. In winter, when the daylight hours are short, people tend to leave work earlier.
17:00-18:30 Work out at the gym or swimming pool, or hang out with friends at a cafe.
18:30-20:00 Dinner with family at home. They usually eat traditional dishes using fish or lamb.
20:00-22:00 Time to relax by watching TV or reading or taking a bath in a hot spring.
22:00-23:00 Time to get ready for bed and rest. Blackout curtains are a must in summer due to the midnight sun.

8:00-8:30 Walk or cycle to school. They often go to school with students from the neighborhood.
8:30-12:00 Morning classes. Mainly English and Icelandic classes, with emphasis on environmental education.
12:00-13:00 Lunch break. Eat fish dishes and sandwiches in the school cafeteria and play outside.
13:00-15:00 Afternoon classes. Mostly practical subjects such as PE and art. In winter, they focus on indoor sports.
15:00-16:30 After-school activities. Participate in various club activities such as soccer, arts and music.
16:30-18:00 After returning home, they do homework and play with friends. In winter, they spend time indoors as it gets dark early.
18:00-19:30 Have dinner with their family and talk about what's going on at school.
19:30-21:00 Homework and independent study time. In summer, children spend more time playing outside.
21:00-22:00 Getting ready for bed and resting. Since this is a growth period, it is important for children to get enough sleep.
